A Touch of Blush and essential item

As a Bridal Makeup Artist in North West England and North Wales, Blusher for me is so essential in creating a look and a step that I can not skip.

We see so many looks made popular from the every growing: Instagram MUA influencer community, sans blusher..  base its on, contour its there, a metallic strip of highlight that’s there too but no blusher?

Its essential ladies and here is why…

We prep our skin ready for base and we conceal redness and cover skin with a base, be it light or full cover its main aim is to cover the skin and make it a blank canvas ready for the magic of putting colour back into the face.  So a contour is done in line with the face shape (remember one type of contour is not for all) and then the every popular highlight is added and then inbetween that contour and highlight a sweep of blush is needed to bring the face alive and without it can make you look ill and unfinished.

Images you see on Instagram are edited and filtered to look great, but face to face in real light it doesn’t work to skip this step.

I love the blush sticks from Charlotte Tilbury called beach sticks my fave shade being Formentera and Las Salinas, again she does a Youth Glow cream blush in a palette (I love this on my more mature clients as it sits nice on the skin) and I love her powder blushes my fave shade is Ectasty.

Kiko Milano do some lovely blush sticks too a fraction of the price of the Charlotte Tilbury shades.

Budget brands have some lovely blush palettes too for those starting out and looking to experiment and these are Revolution and Nip and Fab.

Don’t be afraid of it, you won’t look like a painted doll and make sure you you blend and blend and if you do put too much on, take a tiny bit of your base on the brush and it diffuses the colour a little bit.

Its only makeup experiment with your face with what works and shades that work for you and if it doesn’t work try again and wipe away.

If you are getting married and looking for the very best in Bridal Makeup in the North West and North Wales then get in touch to find out how I can help you on the big day.
