I was asked to predict bridal styles in beauty for 2019 and 2020 for a blog the other day and it got me thinking for a blog for my website.
Makeup is really changing the formulations and all the wonderful products that are affordable in skin care it is making it so much more possible to get your skin the canvas in tip top shape for the big day which means we are seeing looks that are more about wonderful light skin, gorgeous luminosity.
So my predictions for 2019 brides and even into 2020 is the use of light reflecting products on the skin my faves are from Charlotte Tilbury the Hollywood Flawless Filter and the wonderglow, I am also a fan of the Laura Mercier Radiance Primer too.
Skin is so in right now and we are seeing more looks on the catwalk and on Instagram from top makeup professionals where they are embracing skin care and then the lightest touch of light bases or just concealer in the places that it needs. I find that my brides are seeing this and at trial they want lighter cover but they still want the longevity. I use airbase makeup in an airbrush machine that is sprayed on to the skin and they beauty of this product is that it can be adjusted to suit the desired finish so it can go from light, almost tinted moisturiser finish to a full cover but never ever cakey.
Other bases I have been using are EX1 which is gorgeous looks like skin but better and buildable, RCMA which is a cream that needs to be applied with fingers using the heat of the skin but the coverage and how it photographs is amazing. Saturday I trialled Serum Foundation from the Ordinary on a photo shoot and it might be inexpensive but it left this gorgeous dewy luminescent glow to the skin, it is going into my kit as it better than most high end bases I have ever used.
The eyes are shimmering and again glowing and the use of warmer tones in the shadows and rose shades and golds, which are gorgeous and I find the Peaches and Cream Pigments give me the best shimmer for my brides, its just enough and they are so long wearing, my favourite shades are Nude, Halo and Luxe on my brides. After xmas I discovered 2 budget products that I am loving in my bridal looks which are Collection Glam Cystals and Barry M Crushed Jewel. Both absolutely gorgeous on the eye.
Last year we saw 2 Royal weddings the first Megan who looked so elegant and natural and even allowed her cute freckles to shine through with fabulous highlights and then Eugenie who looked so natural glowing with a gorgeous flush of pinky blush.
Bridal makeup is about looking like you but the very best you and the trends in bridal makeup for 2019 and 2020 are really all about this and I can not wait for all the dresses, flowers and the looks each bride will go for this year and next.
I am truly blessed I have the best job in the world.
