New and exciting venues for 2019

As a Bridal Makeup Artist I get around Cheshire, North Wales and further afield from time to time and this year has been really great as I have got to see some really fantastic venues in the area and sometimes a little further.

Trevor Hall on the road into Llangollen, I visited earlier this year and it was amazing…. the views for one are awesome. This venue you rent it for 3 days so you get the first day as the bride to relax with your bride tribe and then the next day you get married there and then the final day, brides and grooms hold a more relaxed event, like a bbq and games. I loved this venue and my bride got wed in the church literally yards away from the house. Seriously loved it and hope to return at some point.

Hawkestone Hall near Shrewsbury, I got to go there for a shoot in the early part of the summer and was lucky enough to get a feel for the venue and its absolutely stunning and the attention to detail is breathtaking. I was lucky enough to go back there last week for the wedding of Raquel and the staff could not do enough for both myself and my colleague, in terms of showing us to the beautiful dressing room and bedroom to showing us how to leave via a back exit which was much easier than us making our way through arriving wedding guests. Amazing drive up to the location through a road on the golf course and then through a wooded area and cave and then finally the venue comes into sight and it really takes your breath away. Loved this venue and I hope I get the chance to return another day.

Delamere Manor in Cheshire, a venue that has been around for a while, however I really never got the chance to go until July. Pop fans and especially Take That fans will know that this was once the family home of Gary Barlow. Stunning grounds, opulent rooms and even a night club, this is an amazing venue to visit.

Pentre Mawr near Denbigh not technically a new venue for me as I have been here before, but this season I have already been twice and I am going back again in 2 weeks. This place is amazing, it is so quirky and so unique and I love it. There is not a huge amount of space to get the bride ready but that is nothing because its a pleasure to come here. The staff are amazing and so kind and welcoming and I always leave with a lovely bacon barm which is just such a welcome and nice touch when you have been working so hard. Check out the tents…. for the best, most quirky glamping accommodation. Honestly this venue for me is amazing and another one you rent for over a few days so you can stretch out the celebrating.

Mottram Hall in Cheshire, we went here in June for the wedding of Rachael and it was great, very grand venue and certainly for a classic hotel wedding, however it was the opulence of the surroundings and the attention to detail from the staff at the venue, they certainly helped to make this brides morning go with no issues and it was nice to see such attentive service.

West Tower this is a new venue for me and I have wanted to pay this one a visit for so long and surprisingly thinking it would be a trek to get to, it really wasn’t at all it took me less than an hour to get to. Stunning venue that is purely for weddings. It was stylish, elegant and so lovely to finally get to see it and I can see why it wins so many awards. Working from a large, light and cool room with plenty of space for me and my hairdresser colleague to work from. I 100% want to return.

So this year already I have been to a few great venues, trips to Anglesey to get a bride ready for her big day and wearing a Marchesa gown was a definite highlight for the fashion junkie in me, and still loads of weddings to go with a trip to a very special venue called Nant Gwerthyn later this year.

Honourable mentions of venues I love and I am lucky to visit many times are Tyn Dwr Hall, Thornton Manor, Tower Hill Barns, Soughton Hall (I don’t think I will ever tire of that driveway), Nunsmere Hall, Peckforton Castle, Inglewood Manor and so many more great venues locally.

I say it time and time again but I really do have a wonderful job and I am lucky as a Wedding Makeup Artist in North West and North Wales to see all these spectacular unique wedding venues.
