The benefits to adding Vitamin C to your Skincare Routine on the run up to your wedding day.

Vitamin C in skincare routine for great skin and great makeup
Obagi 20% Vitamin C Serum

I have been a Bridal Makeup Artist in North Wales and Cheshire,, now for over 15 years and my work is very much reflective of the knowledge and passion I have for good skincare and the understanding that good skin means great makeup and why I always work with my brides on the run up to the day to ensure that the skin is the best it can be so the makeup can be flawless, radiant and the best it has ever been.

I was recently sent a serum to try from Obagi Medical a 20% vitamin c serum and I have been using this now for a week, with some incredible results on using. I have been applying this of a morning after my cleanse and before I apply moisturiser and makeup. I apply 5 drops onto my face and neck. I have noticed a slight tingle but this is nothing to be alarmed by as this is something you will find when you use a stronger strength Vitamin C Serum. In that short space of time I have seen great results in that my skin has more radiance to it and does not feel dull and because of this I have not needed foundation these last few days and I have had comments on how great my skin has been looking, an added bonus is I feel that some of the fine lines have diminished. I am going to continue with this serum and hope to see increased results in a couple of weeks. It is a great serum it is lightweight and slots in well to my current routine and I can feel it working which for me is excellent.

I thought it would be a benefit to let you know why adding Vitamin C to your skincare routine and why it is such a game changer. When it comes to maintaining healthy, glowing skin, your daily skincare routine plays an incredibly vital role. One ingredient that has emerged as a hero in the world of skincare is vitamin C. Loved for its countless skin benefits, vitamin C has quickly established it's place in many people's skincare routine. But, what exactly does vitamin C do for our skin, and why is it so beneficial?

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a nutrient that our bodies need in certain amounts to function correctly. Although it is best known for boosting our immune system, vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that can offer significant benefits when used topically on our skin.

Glowing Skin:

Ever wonder why some people have naturally glowing skin? One of the secrets behind this radiant skin might be the consistent use of vitamin C. The antioxidant properties of vitamin C fight off free radicals that cause dull skin and helps in renewing our skin's surface. As a result, we end up with a brighter complexion and glowing skin that not only looks healthy but is indeed healthier from within.

Increase Collagen Production:

Vitamin C

plays a pivotal role in collagen production, a protein responsible for maintaining our skin's elasticity and firmness. As we age, collagen production slows down, leading to wrinkles and sagging skin. Vitamin C serums can boost this collagen production, leaving our skin firm and youthful.

Reduces Fine Lines:

This increase in collagen production leads to another benefit - the reduction of fine lines. Fine lines and wrinkles are a part of the natural ageing process. But, application of vitamin C can slow down this process and decrease the appearance of these ageing signs.

Improves and Repairs Skin Damaged by UVA and UVB:

Another amazi

ng benefit of vitamin C is its ability to protect and repair our skin from damage caused by UVA and UVB rays. Although vitamin C should never replace your sunscreen, it does have the ability to neutralise the free radicals created by sun exposure. Vitamin C can also speed up the skin's healing process, thus reducing redness and dark spots caused by sun damage.

To reap these benefits, you can include a vitamin C serum or cream in your skincare regimen. Use it consistently and in conjunction with sunscreen to protect and rejuvenate your skin. Remember that although vitamin C is generally safe for most skin types, always do a patch test before applying any new product on your skin.

To sum it up, Vitamin C in skincare is not a fleeting trend. Its benefits are tried, tested, and here to stay. With its ability to stimulate collagen production, repair sun damage, brighten our skin, and reduce fine lines, vitamin C undoubtedly deserves a spot in your daily skincare routine. It's indeed a vitamin that not just our body, but our skin loves too!
