A bit of kindness and consideration

Weddings are emotional. They're exciting, fast-paced, and full of moving parts — people coming together to make one incredibly special day happen. And at the heart of it all, there's something really simple that helps everything run more smoothly: kindness and consideration.

It sounds obvious. But recently, a few too many moments have reminded those of us working in the industry that it's not always guaranteed.

Kindness isn't just about being polite. It's also about how we treat people — especially the suppliers who show up early, stay late, and do everything they can to make the day seamless. Whether it's the makeup artist, the photographer, the florist or the venue team, every single person is there to help bring the day to life. And they all deserve the same respect and thoughtfulness.

This applies to everyone involved — not just suppliers speaking to each other, but also brides and bridal parties. A gentle reminder: the people around you are not staff to be ordered around, or beneath you in any way. They are skilled professionals. Being mindful of how you speak to your team — and how you make them feel — makes a huge difference.

Nobody expects over-the-top fuss. But tone, words, and even just a bit of forward-thinking can shape the whole atmosphere of the morning. Thoughtful planning, space to work, clear communication — these are all part of showing consideration, and they're so often what make or break the flow of the day.

We all want the same thing: a happy, relaxed morning and a brilliant wedding. That starts with treating each other well — no matter what role we're playing.

So let's keep kindness at the centre of things. Not just for the photos, not just for the memories, but for the people who help make it all happen.
