A Styled shoot on Wirral Beach during a break in lock-down
As a Wedding Makeup Artist based in the North West and North Wales I am lucky to know lots of fantastic Bridal suppliers in the area. Something we do as suppliers and often is styled shoots, and the reason we do these is so we can set trends, network amongst each other and we get to be a little creative.
A lull in the lockdown in 2020 saw a very small hand-full of suppliers locally come together to do an outside shoot on one of the fabulous beaches on the Wirral. We even managed to get a horse for this shoot, who was a personality for sure. They do say never work with Children and animals....
During lockdown shoots became important to us suppliers because we could not work, we simply had no content to put out to showcase our business.
We wanted to create looks on the 2 models that were very effortless and boho vibe as the location of beach is very much a low key feel. We had trilby hats, dried floral hair pieces and beautiful dresses that really fitted the feels.
In terms of the makeup, it couldn't be too glam because it was to look effortless so I focussed on sun-kissed and glowing skin, nude and peachy tones throughout, with a hint of shimmer on the eyes. Glow was a huge focus for me. Also bearing in mind the makeup was being done outside so needed to keep it simple.
Suppliers involved in this shoot were:
Bellissima Brides who supplied the Essence Australia gowns
Carol Ellis-Thompson Bridal Hair
