As a Wedding makeup artist covering North Wales and Cheshire, I specialise in luxury bridal makeup and I'm a trained airbrush artist. Airbrush is brilliant for creating flawless, long-wearing skin that lasts from the first glass of fizz to the final dance at the end of the evening celebrations. But even with airbrush, I rely on a full kit of professional products that build the rest of the look. Every product has to perform well and photograph beautifully.
From time to time, I like trying something new, especially if it catches my eye. When Charlotte Tilbury launched the new Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Sticks, I was instantly curious. I've used her blushers in the past and always found the quality to be spot on. The only let-down for me has been her two-tone powder blushes – beautiful, but they break so easily. Not ideal when you're working on-location weddings and your kit needs to be tough. If I'm using powder, I prefer a baked blush because they travel better and last longer.
Charlotte used to have a cream blush stick in a shades called Las Salinas and Moon beach, a glowy pink with golden flecks and a peach tone with irridescent flecks that I absolutely loved. They were discontinued, which was a shame, so I had high hopes for this new launch. I picked up two shades straight away: Rosy Glow and Peach Pop. Both looked wearable for a wide range of bridal looks.
And they did not disappoint.
These blush sticks blend exceptionally well. They have a smooth texture, buildable pigment, and provide the soft, dewy glow every bride desires. I prefer not to have full pigment in one swipe. Bridal makeup should be layered and seamless, and these are ideal for achieving that. They are wonderfully creamy, and despite being a cream product, they don't appear greasy. Instead, they deliver Charlotte's signature glow for a lit-from-within look.
I loved using both shades together. Peachy glow worked really well placed slightly higher on the cheekbone, with Rosy Glow on the apples. It gave this lovely sunrise flush that looked fresh and healthy, without being too much. They don't feel sticky, and they don't sit on the skin. Just that glowing-from-within finish.
I'll definitely be adding more shades to my kit. I've got a few brides later this year with deeper skin tones and I know these will look absolutely gorgeous. Especially want to add Pretty glow and Cherry glow for sure as know they will be a much loved purchase.
If you're after a radiant, blendable
cream blush that works well on all skin types and gives skin a lit-from-within look, these are well worth checking out.
Final verdict: A definite yes from me. bridal-approved, blendable, and beautiful.
