Christmas Wedding Makeup with a touch of glamour at Old Palace in Chester

Bridal Makeup with a touch of Christmas Glamour

I have been a Bridal Makeup Artist covering North West England (Cheshire) and North Wales for over 15 years and I am so lucky to work on some of the most beautiful weddings and I get to work with the best brides to be.

A few weeks ago I headed to Runcorn to the parent's home of Nicola who was marrying at her local church in Helsby, Cheshire and following that with a reception at the fabulous Old Palace in Chester. I am lucky as being a recommended Makeup Artist for the Old Palace in Chester, I get to work there lots or with couples heading there.

I arrived early at Nicola's parents house and I was shocked driving off the M56 and from my home in Ewloe/Hawarden area in North Wales which had no snow (now where I live we get snow and when it snows it can be bad) and Runcorn was absolutely covered in it but nothing on the drive towards it.

I was working with Carol Ellis-Thompson Bridal Hair for this wedding and we do tend to work together a lot and we are good friends. I am always in awe of her because she is so uber talented and for Nicola she took her straight shoulder length bob with the help of extensions to a effortless up do. She is a master at her craft.

For her makeup I wanted to make a real focus on her beautiful full eyes and she has the most amazing eyes for makeup, so we opted for full glam using rich pinks and burgundy tones with a spotlight of rose gold pigments, the palette I used is gorgeous from PLouise Academy an indie brand who make the most strong and flattering pigmented palettes. Lots of liner using my Victoria Beckham liners and beautiful full strip lashes. Her skin is sensational and clear so I used porcelain tones which is her skin shade with lots of dusky pink blush from Made by Mitchell Posey Rosey with Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk blush and highlighters. Finally a slick of Miss Mauve from Natalie Grace Cosmetics, you will see me use this shade a lot and for good reason it is perfection for brides and glides on like a dream and has great longevity. Miss Mauve is my favourite shade in the range and I wear it on myself often. You can buy Natalie Grace lipsticks on-line and by using my code Cathryn10 at the checkout you will get a 10% discount.

Her dress was super classy from Wedding Belles in Frodsham, Cheshire it was a form fitting lace gown with a bardot neckline, it had a gorgeous detail down the centre. It had real style and elegance and not a style I have seen. I always like to see a gown that is a bit different, this was divine.

Her photographer is one of the loveliest I have worked with and I had met Emily Horton previously in the Summer of 2022 when she was Bridesmaid to her best friend Alice so she had her hair and makeup done by Carol and I. It is always lovely when we work with such nice suppliers.

I am sure you will agree these photos are incredible and you see why I have the best job in the world, I am part of someone's best day and I get to see some of the most beautiful dresses and styling as well as being part of all the fun and excitement that comes with bridal prep.
