The Power of Women in the Wedding Industry: A Celebration of Female-Led Businesses

The wedding industry is a truly unique space—one filled with creativity, passion, and dedication. For those of us who work within it, it's more than just a job; it's a calling, a craft, and an ever-evolving journey. Over the past 18 years, I've had the privilege of working with countless incredible brides, but just as importantly, I've had the honour of meeting and collaborating with some of the most talented wedding suppliers in the business. Many of these suppliers have become not just colleagues but lifelong friends.

But beyond the beauty of weddings themselves, what stands out the most is the sheer number of incredible women who drive this industry forward. It's a fact that women dominate the wedding sector, not just in presence but in leadership. In the UK alone, an estimated 80% of the 400,000 professionals working in the wedding industry are women. This statistic is both powerful and inspiring, proving that this is an industry shaped and sustained by female talent, vision, and entrepreneurship. (stats from Rock my wedding 2024)

A Negative Experience That Led to a Positive Movement

Recently, I attended a wedding event where I was treated appallingly by a male supplier. It was an upsetting experience, and while I could have let it get to me, I chose to channel that frustration into something positive. The most incredible part of that day wasn't the negativity I faced but the overwhelming support I received from the women around me.

In that moment, I realised once again just how strong, connected, and empowering this industry is for women. And it cemented an idea that had been forming in my mind for some time—a female-led wedding networking club, exclusively for bridal suppliers in North Wales, Chester, and Wirral.

Why a Women-Only Wedding Network?

Coming from a corporate background in business development, I've always valued networking. In my previous roles, business networking was an essential part of growth and support, yet in the wedding industry, I've found that many female suppliers don't always have access to the same structured opportunities.

That's why I'm creating a wedding networking club exclusively for female bridal suppliers. This isn't just about business connections; it's about community, empowerment, and celebration. The club will provide a space where women in the industry can come together, share experiences, learn from each other, and support one another.

What Will the Network Offer?

The events will be a mixture of:

Educational sessions – Workshops on business development, marketing, and industry trends.

Coffee mornings and evening catch-ups – A chance to connect and chat informally with like-minded women.

Wellness-focused activities – Think yoga, sound baths, and mindfulness sessions.

Social outings – Theatre trips, Christmas parties, and fun nights out.

This is all about celebrating the fact that women not only run this industry but also support and uplift one another. It's about creating a network where we can grow together—both personally and professionally.

When we collaborate we always win

So, to all the female wedding suppliers out there—whether you're a makeup artist, a florist, a photographer, a dress designer, or anything in between—this is for you. It's time to celebrate, connect, and champion each other in an industry that thrives because of us.

If you're interested in joining this network, please get in touch. Let's build something amazing together.
